The TOTEM Theatre confines itself to the form of small-scale theatrical performances where visuality, too, continues the minimalistic line. Art is not just something large and impressive. The original esthetics of the performances, created by a combination of different art forms, an expression almost without any words and of visual minimalism, is the artistic choice of The TOTEM Theatre. The unity it creates allows the the audience of children to complement the story with their own thoughts, feelings, and words.

TOTEM Theatre continues to develop new drama with a new play every year. TOTEM Theatre also co-operates with schools and art institutes by hosting art education and workshops as part of theatres repertoire. During year 2010 TOTEM theatre will tour with the play KALEVALAA ETSIMÄSSÄ/ KALEVALA PÅ SPÅREN, directed by Atro Kahiluoto. The play is loosely based on Kalevala and has 5-12 year old children as the target group. In addition to the plays, at least 10 workshops will be given at chosen schools in Espoo, Helsinki and Vantaa.
